What if we really hate having our photo taken?

You’re honestly in the majority — and it’s completely fine.

Most couples I work with start by telling me they feel awkward in front of the camera and really don’t want loads of posing. That’s pretty much why I work the way I do.

I shoot weddings in a relaxed, documentary way, which means I’m not constantly stopping you, arranging you, or asking you to “perform”. I’ll give gentle guidance when it helps, but mostly I let things unfold naturally so you can just be yourselves and forget I’m there.

Anna & Luke tied the knot on 14th December with a proper classic Surrey line-up: a heartfelt church ceremony at St Peter’s in Walton on the Hill, followed by an absolute belter of a reception at Denbies Wine Estate — with a quick portrait mission up at Box Hill in the kind of winter light that makes photographers go a bit quiet and whisper, “Yep… this is the one.”

I know I’m lucky to live on the north coast of Cornwall, especially as a photographer, the one thing we’re not short of is beautiful locations, for me Lusty Glaze in Newquay is absolutely right up there with the best of them, a private laid back beach venue with ocean views to die for. I’ve shot at Lusty Glaze a number of times and each wedding has been an utter joy to photograph.

Steve started the day itself with a Surf, an idea that’s always going to be a winner in my book, I took some shots, ran home, swapped my camera for my board, and hopped in too. It was quite a lot bigger than it looked and pretty solid on Perranporth's lowtide banks, so the less said about how this session went the better..

I've been photographing weddings all over the country, even on TV, for years, but this day was my very first time shooting in my own hometown.. I know... weird...

I’ve had the Joy of knowing Al for What feels like forever, he is a musician/singer/songwriter and a bloody good one too. We had the pleasure of gigging together a bit years back and as a result, have too many stories that should never come out.

An old cheese farm, a lot of good friends, some great light, and a bit of moorland field meant Tom and Sophie had the day of their dreams and ended up with a boot full of wonderful Images to remember it for the years to come.

An early start straight off the back from a Cornish Wedding, charge batteries, back up the previous day’s images (twice), clear cards, sync all three cameras, clean lenses, then off to the London wedding of Jon and Buffy
